This was a big disappointment. We went last night for the Friday Night Fish 'n Chips special. First of all, the service was horrible. The waiter took our order and after we got the food, we never saw him again unless we flagged him down. It's all you can eat and 3 people in our group wanted 2nd helpings. One of the guys got his after about 10 minutes. After it was apparent that the other 2 were fogotten, we flagged down the waiter. About 5 minutes later, the 2nd person got his but nothing came for the 3rd person. So we flagged the waiter down yet again and then finally the 3rd person got their 2nd helping. Unbelievable!!!
Now to the food - it was ok but there was way too much batter and not enough fish. At least the "chips" and cole slaw were good. But none of it was remotely good enough to have put up with the service.
I'm not sure if they were shorthanded or just poorly organized. There seemed to be plenty of people running around. But it also seemed as if our waiter's tables were so spread out that he was continually running from one area of the restaurant to the other - the bar, the dining room and the outside tables.
And then to top it off, it took forever to get the check once we were done. Luckily, we weren't in a big hurry, but didn't expect it to take nearly as long as it did for this meal.
Needless to say, we're not going back again soon!

With the excellent ambiance and exemplary service from the wait staff (which was the only thing holding me back from requesting a refund) I couldn't believe how disappointed I was with my meal. The quality of the salmon I ordered was horrendous, it actually smelled like the fish was a couple of days old. I'd order the soup which was good, but after my experience with THIS salmon I'd be remiss to order an entree or anything outside of a drink from this place.

I was in there on Christmas Eve, Eve for the first time. My fiance took me there for some drinks after a movie. Since it was so cold out, I immediately sat down and began warming my hands over the candle on the table. The outstanding owner noticed this and offered to situate me and my fiance in front of the cozy fireplace. I obliged and he did just that. Bring out truffles and engaging us in some lively conversation, this place was spectacular. I highly recommend this place to my western suburb neighbors out here in Aurora that come in to visit the City.

The BEST brunch in the city I've found yet. A buffett that has everything from seafood to breakfast to prime rib to a chocolate fountain for a measley $13.50. SOOO GOOD!!

When we come to Chicago, we "come home" to spend time and dine at Chief's; Everything is superb, from the food to the atmosphere. Cheers!!!

Been going here for years. The food here is good. Its not a 4 star restaurant, if you want that, go somewhere else. It pub food with more of a selection. Very tasty. The Guiness cheese soup is delicious. We get it everytime we go. We never had a problem with the service, it has varied from good to great. I recommend this place. Also a great spot to hang out during the summer, but watch out for the squirrels!

It was my first time to Chief O'Neills last night and I loved the place! I live in the area and will definitley go back. The service was great - bartendars were so nice and the people in the bar were nice as well! Will be back soon!

This is a great Pub/Restaurant. We had dinner last night and it was delicious. The draught beer menu was pretty good featuring the regular Irish beers . The atmosphere was great. Very neighborhood like. There was smoking in the pub area where we ate but that was the only draw back. Will go back again!

Super nice people and great food! We got there and the kitchen had just closed (about 11 p.m.) but they kept it open for us. It made a great impression on the family members from Boston that we had just picked up at O'Hare. Outstanding service too!

The bar is fine, but the food on St. Pat's was HORRID. Goodness. I guess they figured everyone would be drunk before they ate and it wouldn't matter. I've heard from others that the food was bad but my previous experience with it was fine. Not this time. It's a cute place but I will never eat there again. Drinks, yes.
