Hideously overpriced

I would never go back to Rebar. My frien and I went and I've never had anything as gross as the mixed drinks here. We ordered different drinks and they were all disgusting (tasted like varying types of potpourri. So bad we couldn't drink them, even at $15-$20 a pop. To add insult to injury, the service was awful. The waitress took our order and then didn't reappear for about 45 minutes. We finally flagged her down for the check and she brought it - and it had the wrong drinks on it. When we pointed it out she goes, "well, I guess I can check to see if there was a mix up." Check with who? YOU took the order, girl! Not to mention, the still-full drinks were on the table in front of her, and we told her what they were! Since the total was still about the same as it would have been with the right drinks we just told her we'd pay it. She left with the bill and came back and it was corrected, but mysteriously suddenly several dollars more than the original bill, which it shouldn't have been. It's almost like she knew she was gonna get a bad tip for her bad service, so she padded the bill.

Skip this place. Go to the Peninsula, which is 1000x better. Better (and cheaper!) drinks, better service, better snack mix. Better everything.

Disappointment is an understatement.

When to rebar to check out the scene. Wanted to know if it would be an appropriate location for me to bring clients. The hostess tried to seat us in the "VIP lounge"... which is actually the section with no windows and near the bathrooms. Told her we'd rather sit in the "normal section" with the windows.

Ordered a couple drinks and the cognac had a fly floating on the top and my martini had sloshed over the side all over the napkin (blueberry stain). Sent the cognac back, no comp drink. I understand that this kind of thing happens from time to time, but staff showed no remorse.

I have never posted a negative review on this or any other site before. After this service and poor quality, I feel compelled to do so. rebar gets no more business from me.

laughable "sophistication"

The multitude of framed cut-up blueprints covering the walls looks like something Target would offer Chad and Trixie. Being told by the attractive-yet-clueless server that the non-dissolving suds (glass cleaning solution?) floating on top of my $16 glass of Sauvignon Blanc was normal was enough to persuade me to abandon this latest contribution to the city's tourist zone. And where's the rebar (a piece of twisted rebar sculpture or whatever that at least nodded at the name would have been appropriate)?

The girls and I decided to have a night out at the Trump Tower and were a little disappointed by the crowd. We were then verbally assaulted by a drunk patron and left the bar in disgust. Security saw what happened and met us outside and removed the man from the bar and then treated us to drinks. And can I say, I am so glad we decided to go back! The drinks were AMAZING. Really beautiful tasty champagne cocktails. The staff were very helpful and friendly and did everything in their power to make this experience a positive one for us!

The hottest new lounge is the hottest new lounge. Great concept with an amazing view and cocktail selections. The bottle service is something that is rare to see in a hotel bar and I think it's great touch. No other hotel bars that i have been to have bottle service or champagne service. It's definetly a place to check out and be seen. Great attentive staff and extremely professional hostesses. Everything about it was great. Will return in a heartbeat!!!! Simiply amazing!!!!

i was at rebar a few days ago and had a blast. the sushi is a great touch for a place that looks straight on to the river. i LOVE the punchbowl idea

i went to rebar after work yesterday (a monday) and the experience was terrible. we waited 15 minutes for service at a table, after i even asked if we should order at the bar. we finally got cocktail menues and waited another 15 minutes for someone to take our order. when the drinks didn't arrive 20 minutes later, i had to ask for them, adn they arrived in 5 minutes. 2 of the drinks were sent back b/c they were made wrong, and the replacements never showed after 20 minutes. we left paltry cash on the table and left.

i hope this pathetic experience was only b/c they're new, and not b/c they dont care.

i wont be back. if this is what it's like on a monday at 6PM, what happens on saturday nights?!

Took forever to get a drink so we gave up and left. And the bar wasn't even busy!
