You don't have to check in to the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers to check out this hotel lounge, but we bet it helps. The spacious lobby's a bit difficult to navigate, so just point yourself east towards the lake and keep walking. The semicircular bar boasts romantic views of the river and plenty of cushy leather couches to curl up on. Jeffrey Beers (Japonais, Vegas hotspot Rum Jungle and more) designed the space in dark mahogany and deep earth tones with glass-paneled liquor displays to create a retro/mod look that comes across with a '90s feel. (Or was the Fat Boy Slim and Veruca Salt soundtrack coloring our opinion?) Nosh froufrou finger food like four mini Chicago hot dogs, or two sliders with truffle potato chips. A Lakeshore Lemonade was more potent than its name let on, but cocktails here are a tad pricey when you're sipping in a somewhat empty hotel bar with conference-goers.
