One of the most authentic German taverns on the north side of Chicago is the Huettenbar. Conversations in German and German music spill put through the large, Bavarian-style front windows which open onto Karl Laschett Strasse. This renamed section of North Lincoln Avenue has been transformed into a European street scene. Inside the Huettenbar you'll find a long bar, a few small tables and a comfortable booth rounding out the rustic interior. The "stampstich," the large booth by the front door, is a traditional place for Germans to meet old friends and make new ones.
