Hate it, hate it, hate it

I've been here numerous times (trying to support both the neighborhood and the fellow gays). Went with a party of 7 last night, we put our names on the list and were finally sat at a table for 4. The waiter then proceeede to pressure us all to order, saying that an additional table would be ready before the food arrived. Half the group ordered, the other half did not, out of fear that we'd be eating off of our laps. Needless to say, the other table did not leave in time. I don't expect 5-star service food or service at a 'sports bar,' but I also don't expect slop. Go to Crew for a beer, go to Fat Cat for good service, great food, and a superior ambience.

Great Food, Great Service, Straight Friendly

I've gone here quite a few times. I love the quesadillas! The servers are great (and quite handsome I might add). This is a very straight friendly bar so much so that some of my gay friends questioned whither it was a gay bar or not.

Always have a blast @ Crew

Have been going here since they opened -- I love the bar, the food, the drinks and the service. Great place to catch a game or a bite to eat. Crew has been a great addition to the 'hood and is very supportive of the community and local recreational sports teams. Can't wait for the owner's new endeavour to open up next door!

Good, not great

I like this bar, dont get me wrong. Its a good place to go to watch a game, but could be so much more. The beer selection is amazing, beergaritas are pretty darn too -- give them a try. But the prices are way high for Uptown, which keeps me from coming here regularly. The food is good, but again for these prices I would expect something better than just average bar food, which is what it is. Either up the quality level or lower the prices. The service is mediocre as well. I'd happily pay their prices regularly if the quality of food and service level would match the price. And how about some specials? Everyone around town has a $2 burger day -- it gets people in the door who end up spending much more on other drinks and things. $12 pitchers isnt a "special"

Have to disagree with Ben, I think the burgers at Crew are fantastic. But then, I'm not all that picky what kind of *lettuce* comes with it. Can't comment on the veggie relish. I always have the mac and cheese. :)

Just moved to Chicago from Wisconsin and LOVE LOVE LOVE Crew! A real gay sports bar. My friends visting from Milwaukee loved the food. Even though my Brewers lost and the Cubies won, a great time was had by all.

Wow. Super expensive for iceberg, and unknown beef for the hamburgers. I think the veggie relish came from a can. The servers were very friendly and the beergaritas are always yummy. But wow. I think I'll cook for myself from now on -- unless Crew fixes up the quality of ingredients to match the outrageous prices they charge for iceberg lettuce and canned ingredients. I hope they're making some big donations to some charity!

I think I found my new hang out. I have been looking for a gay bar that is laid back. I don't really like night clubs so finding Crew was a pleasant surprise. If you are looking for some place to hang out with your friends, get a few drinks, and get some tasty food with out the annoyance of the dance floor then come to Crew.
