A storefront bar with a small square dance space and mirrored walls, Club Escape is mostly peopled by those in their 30s and 40s. When host Jackie is in the house, the place rocks with entertainment, prizes and a food spread. Other weeks, Club Escape is quieter, with folks playing hearts and bid whist at a high table and others dancing to step, house, disco, jazz and whatever else the DJ feels like playing that night. Newcomers are introduced around until the bar feels like family. A gay men's bar during the rest of the week, Club Escape reserves Thursday for women's night, though many of the male regulars show up, too.
