Renegade Craft Fair's greatest hits
One of the best tattoo-, people-, dog-, baby-watching events of the season was last weekend's seventh annual Renegade Craft Fair, the hipster homage in Ukrainian Village. Some 300 crafters and artists from around the country -- many of them local talent -- displayed their DIY on Division Street.
There was plenty of woodland irony, robot- and mustache-themed oeuvres and an abundance of wacky slacker Web site names (cordial kitten.com, alwaystheforest.com, franticmeerkat.com). But, notably, not a crocheted toilet paper cover in sight.
Edgy? Yes! Subversive? Si.
With so much to see, one overwhelmed shopper said, "I've already forgot what I liked." I haven't. Here are some of my favorites.
