Two attorneys quit their day jobs to buy Tavern 33 and remake it into this contemporary English pub. As the name suggests (shires are horses that carry beer from brewery to pub in England), beer is the drink of choice here. You can still order your Bud or Miller by the bottle, but the dozen-plus taps here are occupied by higher-end American microbrews and imports such as Delirium Tremens, Chimay Tripel, Peak Organic Amber and Dogfish Head's 60 Minute IPA. In 2009, look for a limited food menu of sausages from Paulina Meat Market.
