they have some cool djs come through... i have been two weeks in a row. last week was a dj set by the guy from VHS or Beta, and this week, there was another guy I liked who was dj-ing downstairs. the door guy also has a fox on his head. fun times.
Report This ReviewI feel like their heart's were in the right place, but the club was poorly executed. I actually liked it better as a restaurant when it was tre via. I have seen some good (and not so good) talent through there, so I appreciate the club trying to bring good sound to Chicago. The videos that they play in there are a bit annoying.
Report This ReviewI have been here on week days and weekends and have had a great time both times. the bartenders are BAD ASS for some reason they always have given me a free drink, almong with whatever ive ordered...music is fun, though i can dance to anything..people given the crowed big or small was all was different and interesting LoVes it
Report This ReviewThe place is actually really fun the music is great and the crowd couldn't be better......but the bartenders are horrible!!!! I'm not saying they are all bad and im not going to through this guy under the bus so i wont describe him, but he was one of the worst bartenders i have ever encountered. From taking forever to bring us drinks to forgetting what we ordered. To top it all off after i had spent over $300 on drinks i waiting for my tab while he was doing shots and laughing with friends...totally ignoring me. Really ruined my night...too bad because it could have been a great place.
Report This ReviewFor portraying itself as a punk, laidback bar, it was surprisingly pretentious! The bartenders were SLOW and RUDE. The quality of the drinks varied greatly depending on what bartender you got. Also, even though the crowd was "punk" the music was techno! Didn't see that coming!
I went on Friday night for the burlesque show. The show was great. However, we paid $12 per person just to get in, and there were very few places in the bar to actually see the show, as there was only about a 3 foot space between the bar and the stage. What a stupid setup! Also, even though the place has two floors, the bottom floor was completely empty. The only two people down there was the lady working the coat check and the DJ. The upstairs looked full at first, until you notice that the bar actually takes up most of the floor space.
Totally not worth the money or time. Would definitely never go back there.
I had my birthday party there last Saturday....and it was a blast! They were sooo accommodating and really tailored the birthday package to what I wanted. We had 2 booths reserved for my party along with free bottles of champagne. The server was super sweet also and was very attentive. The music there is fun- maybe not the best on the block but fun enough to dance to all night. The best part it, Debonair has super high ceilings and the space is big- nobody felt cramped. And I don't remember anyone having to wait a long time to get drinks at the bar. They have a downstairs too, but we were having such a good time we forgot to check it out! I definitely recommend having parties there.
Report This ReviewHated the pretentious attitude of this place
Report This ReviewCool place that Debonair. Love the 2 floors and seemingly 2 different scenes on the same night. Big clubs put me off, treating me like cattle, love the neighborhood feel here. Video works too. Seems like the bar staff was having too much fun, especially when they are doing shots and i'm waiting to close my tab! Now i know why they are always smiling, getting tips while getting drunk ain't so bad. Good Times.
Report This ReviewWe headed to Debonair after Empire Liquors across the street proved overly crowded and disgusting (you could taste the sweat in the air). Debonair was large and spacious. Vents kept the air circulating and provided for a nice feel as opposed to typical disgusting "club" air. The DJ played a healthy mix of Top 40 and some throwbacks to the 80s, etc. that made for an unpretentious night out. We bought a table with great service and not-too-expensive bottles (Effen at $125 apiece). Overall, a great place to go if you're looking to be able to sing along to songs, dance with your friends, talk with your friends, or relax when you need to. Also, it's open to 3 am!
Report This ReviewThis place is very plain, and has nothing really to make you want to stay!
