had an ok time at the wild pug. very neighborhood-ey type of scene, cute bartenders with dance floor in back. Going from past reviews I tried to have a conversation with the DJ but the owner came running up yelling because I had one foot in the dj booth... really should work on people skills when opening a bar.......

Yes, The Wild Pug is sure to be a destination of choice for the Chicago bar-scene goer. Without much in the way of promotions, the place seems to already have quite the buzz about town. I went with a group of friends, last Friday and it felt like going to a place we've been going to for years, very comfortable, lots of seating, the bartenders and staff were nice, even the DJ spinning was open for at-length conversations with me, which I have never had happen before, most DJ's just brush you off....

It is a very open-minded, universally appealing bar, that I think anyone will find comfortable. The darts are a lot of fun also! I really hope to see the place packed within the next couple of weeks.

The Wilde Pug is ok....I was there for the "VIP" opening party last night and was shocked that they charged $2.00 for coat check! For the opening party they couldnt waive the $2.00 fee? (And $2.00 seems steep considering most places charge $1.00) The decor was just alright, .I didnt really get a pub like feel and I dont see how a dancefloor goes with a pub themed bar...for the sake of the neighborhood I hope it does ok, but I wasnt thrilled.

The Grand Opening of the Wild Pug was last night, and I was skeptical with all the buzz I was hearing. I must say, this place is by far the best choice for someone that enjoys an authentic night out. The space is very tastefully constructed, the music was the perfect mixture, and the staff was extremely friendly. Not only a great place for the gay/lesbian community, it is filled with a variety. It has more of a neighborhood bar feel than a gay bar, which is great for all people ragurdless of orientation. The owners were present and walking around making sure everyone was having a good time. Definitely the first bar/pub I have been impressed with in quite some time.

I was there on opening night and was very impressed. The staff was friendly.The space is great. The atmosphere is fun. A large mixed crowd. Will definitely frequent there!!!! The word that comes to mind to describe it best is "classy".
