My friend tried to have her bday party at Vain last night and even though she had meetings with the employees there and gave them an accurate head count of how many people would be attending, we still stood outside in the cold for almost an hour just so that they could try and charge us $20 PER PERSON (females included) for a pre-scheduled bday party. The door people were rude and the valet would take your car and NOT inform you that the club was supposedly "over capacity", even though they were still take your car and charge you when you couldn't get it. I wouldn't recommend this club for a DOG, it's the worse Chicago club experience that I've ever encountered.
They tried to use the "we're over capacity" trick to thin out the line but in the same breath, they were letting so called "celebs". Not only will I be writing reviews in NUMEROUS blogs, I'll be tweeting about how horrible this place is. Support any other club but this crappy establishment.
Report This ReviewWent there last sunday and brought a few business associates. Never expected soo many people on a sunday night. Thought i was in a vegas bar. well it was a great time from the start to the end. I will diff come back.
Report This ReviewI've been to this venue a few times and while the place has a nice dance floor and a decent staff, the crowd crowd leaves something to be desired. Men are allowed to enter with baggy jeans and tennis shoes. For a nightclub, this is simply unacceptable. Prices were average for Chicago, but the line outside was way too long and the groups of hood rats hanging outside didn't make the place seem to enticing. I won't be going back. Too bad because they could have done nice things with this venue.
Report This ReviewVAiN is great on Saturdays especially because of the two different kinds of musics that they pay. The free admission all night with a password, I used PATRON so they don't charge girls or guys with that. They have good wristband specials and a crazy great filled crowd of 3 floors and dancers in the waterfalls very creative.
Report This ReviewWent last night for their 1st anniversary and besides the decoration, everything else went downhill. my friend tried to order drinks and the first bartender was drunk and didn't even know what he was doing so we asked a different bartender and she ignored our request and then came back again to ask what we wanted. No tip for her.... for a place to be celebrating their anniversary and for being a saturday night, this place wasn't crowded at all. I'm talking like 15 people or so.... so lame.
Report This Reviewthe first time i went there i was not impressed at all. the only thing i liked were the dancers dancing in the water! but i returned to the place couple months later founding it to have a great vibe!
Report This ReviewThis place charges girls to get in what LOSERS!!! They think its Crobar or something. Not a fan of this place...
Report This ReviewI went to Club Vain this past Friday 5/16. Way overcrowded - extremely hot and just a wasted evening. Spent $40 bucks on valet. And it took me almost an hour just to get to the VIP section. Was so drained that I didn't feel like fighting back threw the crowd to get a drank. Enough - close the door and let the people who arrived early have a good time.
Never again!!!!
Report This ReviewWe went to Vain last night with a group of friends from out of town. The place was almost empty at 11.30 pm. It started filling up a little an hour later. But the crowd was simply unappealing. A bunch of awkward people just standing around looking like creeps. I will never go back.
Report This ReviewFirst of all, I never pay to get into this club. It's simple enough to get your name on the RSVP list by emailing them a few hours before they open, and getting a confirmation email. The music is always awesome. It has 3 different floors, the top one usually being VIP. The bottom floor is usually for the lounge-type people; there's a huge bar along with couches across from the bar. The only problem is that the couches are placed such that when the front door opens to let people in (pretty frequently) there's a cold blast of air that seeps into the area in the winter.
But in between the VIP section and the bottom level is the middle floor, which is where all the fun happens. Here, all the dance music is played, usually urban and top 40 hits, as well as remixes that make you wanna move. The bartenders are awesome and pretty entertaining, and the drinks are great. The staff is pretty friendly and aren't real pushy. This level also has skimpy clothed women who get on stage after midnight and dance to the music, which seems to be a welcomed distraction to some of the males, but an opportunity for the females in the club to clown them.
Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place for a guaranteed fun time and good drinks. There's very little seating compared to how crowded the place gets though, so make sure to leave those 3 inch heels in the closet.
