Eww.. this place is the WORST!! Go here if you don’t mind being treated disrespectfully. It stinks inside and it’s about as classy inside as it’s outside.

i had a great time at the sound-bar! my girls and i went there for the first time oct.31, 2009 and we had a blast! they had great music, people and service was really good!

If you like spray on tans, spikey hair, and shirts with lots of embroidery this is the place to go. The club itself is really nice inside and set up really well. Now I can say that I have been here and do not see myself going back again.

They should rename this place B.O. Bar

so many stinky dudes in here, the stench was unbearable. Avoid this place on saturday nights, lame, smelly crowds.

Soundbar is one of the best clubs in Chicago. It does get packed so get there early. If you search facebook you can find a password so you never have to pay to get in. A bottle of vodka is only $125 on Fridays which is an excellent deal!

Nice spot on thursdays, but not any other day!

If you are looking for a good spot to go to on a thursday, then Sound Bar is the spot for you. The drinks are ok, but they are not that expensive, so I guess i cannot complain. Also, it is not overly crowded; there are people there, but it is a nice group. Good place to meet a woman because they have couches and you can spit your game without having to scream in her ear. Also, good place to take a date for an after dinner drink on a Thursday night. Friday thru Sunday, the place is bad. Thursdays, give it a try.

I went to Soundbar on a Saturday with my best friend, and our boyfriends. While walking up to the door I ran into some people I knew, while my friends went in and got past the door immediately because we are all industry i stayed behind and talked to my friends for a few seconds, which I guess extremely irritated the bouncer, when I walked up to the door he began screaming, literally screaming at me, that I cant just do whatever I want, and he doesnt know who I think I am to have made him wait for me and I had better not even think about bringing up my friends to the front of the line with me, when I told him he could relax that it really wasnt that serious, he began yelling at me and told me to shut up and get my ass in the club. I went in just because my friends were there and we stayed for 5 minutes total because the place smelled like horrendous BO and feet and maple syrup. I didnt see one attractive person there. Ewwwwww stay away!

The best thing about this place is the music. We got bottle service and the host and cocktail waitress were both very nice and did a good job.
The downside is they need to remodel and try to get some new clientele. We went on the dancefloor and were hit with a nasty smell of BO and Old Spice. It was just unbearable and made me wish smoking was still allowed just to kill that awful stench.

Classy and always satisfied.

The environment is excellent! upstairs is rather spacious. It never seems to get crowded up there! Therez also an additional small red room which played different music. Then therez a downstairs and it was pretty amazing. The rooms were separated by pretty much huge wall windows. I think this club was in the movie "break up", im just thinking outloud now. Upstairs played techno, and downstairs played hiphop. Drinks were moderately strong. And the staff is fun and entertaining for the most part. The bouncers always look so serious. Other than that, never had a bad time here.!!!

To acouple of the reviews.This place has music to fit everyone's likings..If you don't like House/techo music, stay on the bottom floor for hip hop/top 40....If you still don't find peace...this is NOT your bar. Your better off going to a alittle sit down tavern down the road. This bar is ranked as one of the top clubs in chicago due to their outstanding DJ Line ups, massive complex, and lively atmosphere. Acouple weeks ago I had a private reservation and the door staff couldn't find it and were VERY rude about it. They found it on another sheet and it was a complete 180 spin on their attitude...Immedatly, I was apologized to and taken right to our table. Didn't know what that was all about but i tried not to let rude door staff ruin the night. $7-10 for drinks is pretty typical as in most Downtown bar/nightclubs. This is one of the best clubs i've been to in chicago and will def. be coming back no question about it.
