I have seen some really great djs come through this venue. One of the better venues in Chicago if you want to go to a club to hear electronic music and not have to worry about trendy clubbers and people copping attitudes. Decor fits the music; underground and simple. Sound is pretty good and there is plenty of dancefloor space. I've never had a problem with a bouncer or bartender.

I agree with the statement about SmartBar, you either love it or hate it. If you want to hear electronic, house, or jungle- this is one of the best venues in Chicago. Small, intimate, near the DJ. Underground, beneath the Metro... If you want "The Hits" from the radio, or are there to impress people with your clothes and cash- go elsewhere. If you want an unpretentious crowd, with some of the best Dj's in the world, this is the venue. The drinks are robustly crafted too! Having been around the world to Love Parade, DEMF/Movement/Fuse-In, Sonar, Motor Lounge, Body & Soul NYC, House Tourhout, FUSE, Tresor, etc... I can say for electronic music and house music, this is one of my favorite venues...

Well, this is a "hate it" or "love it" bar, depending on who you are. The cover is way over priced for it having the hole-in-the-wall décor, or lack there of, and the door lady yelled at me when i handed the wrong person the cover fee, geez.
They have techno/house repetitive music, and blast it all night. if that is your thing, youll love it. if you like hip hop and like to dress up, this isnt the place for you.
the crowd ranges from older ladies with huge blonde poofy hair to guys with leather vests, to trendy girls, to clubheads. got alittle bit of everything wearing everything.
