Not Bad on Sundays
By RavenCash from Lake Shore, October 2, 2008

Sundays is cool here. they do a poetry set from 9 to 11pm, then it turns into a party. Drinks are pretty good, music is pretty good, and the women are usually friendly. The only problem I have with this place is that I always see the same people there. My guys and I may go once every two months, and i promise we see the same people who love poetry and have the dreads in their hair. Just go one time, and never come back....unless you wanna see the same people when you return.

Well, what can I say? If I wanted to hear some third rate DJ spin B96's top ten I would just listen to the radio. Do yourself a favor and save your hard earned cash (a $20 cover is just insane), buy a decent bottle of whiskey, and kick back at home. The crowd was--to be very frank--hostile and unwelcoming. The atmosphere was lacking and the decor was nothing to write home about. I honestly don't understand what all of the fuss is about. Find some other place to get your rocks off or just stay put. Totally Bogus.

i went for the first time last night to see what all the fuss was about. i had a great time. the djs played the best hip hop , house mix i ever heard. none of the same music over and over. nothing but grown folk music. the atmophere was great. they kept the place nice and cool when the dance floor heated up. we showed up early so we got in free and there was plenty of parking. the crowd was diverse and the place never got that packed. my only gripe was there was no where to sit cause all the couchs were reserved for people that didnt even show up til bout one in the morning

Cool space, cool music, ruined by a rude and unprofessional staff. I won't be back.

Funky Buddha was great! Even on a Saturday night, the service was well, the bouncers were friendly, the atmosphere was great. Yes, it was crowded, but that is the only way it should be. The music was great and just kept you going the whole night. I can't wait to go back again...lots of fun.

The music was good, but there was one bartender who unfailing managed to upset all of my group! She was acting as if we were doing a favor to us by serving us drinks! Wonder why shes still employed????Her rudeness is the only reason we WILL NOT GO BACK!

I had a blast with my girl for her birthday (Tee). We danced and got our drink on all night long. The drinks were over priced. Overall we will go back for more.

I always have a good time at the Funky Buddha. But, the line is always super long and the cover charge is a little expensive considering how crowded it gets in there. But overall, a great club!!

I love Funky Buddha. It's a great place. The staff is great and the drinks are good. Me and my girls always have a good time when we go. I have to admit the dance floor is kind of crowded but I still manage to have fun.
