The Bank Restaurant & Bar: User Reviews
I went here on a date last night and was very impressed. I'm not usually the type to write reviews, but the atmosphere and overall experience were great. Sitting outside allows for a little better conversation. Attentive waitstaff...nice menu and preparation. I'll be back.

I went the The Bank for lunch on Aug 1st. The service was top notch, the food was terrific and even inexpensive at lunch.
I can not wait to go back.
Try the forbidden rice and Tilapa

Went to the Bank for Valentine's Day yesterday and enjoyed the overall dining experience. The menu had many things that I will have to go back for in order to try them all. Also was impressed with the vast beer menu including the draft flight (4 for $12). Would definitely go here again.

I agree with the other reviewer that Adelle's is one of the best restaurants we have been to within 5 miles of Wheaton. But I think that the Bank is up there as well. The ambience, service, and food quality are excellent. If you get a chance, make a reservation. We have two toddlers and they definitely help cater to our needs (what can I say, we like to dine). The servers are great and are attentive. Prices are on the medium to upper range, and the prices at the bar are not bad also. My favorite is the seafood sampler with cocktails on Friday night at the bar. They have been friendly to me all around whenever I have been there.

We went there when it first opened and found the food to be subpar and overpriced. Thinking that we were mistaken, we tried again several months later. No change. We will not be back.

Obviously these past reviews are from other local struggling restaurants patrons and need to vent poor educated culinary knowledge in hopes of persuading opinions. The Bank just celebrated its first year anniversary and has had some "down" days, but as a frequent diner this place is far from failing. The kitchen does not "suck" as the last person implies. Since when can crispy edges come from a microwave? Splatters on the plate can also come from 550 degree convection ovens. Negative people are never happy, shame. With everything going on in the world, bloggers love to nit-pick. It must be wonderful to be perfect and loved by all. We regulars at The Bank will keep going, sometimes they make mistakes, so do you. How can a kitchen "suck" with to A+ to start. God Bless.

Chicken Tortilla Soup A+
Grilled Calamari A+
My husband, daughter and I were loving our meal until the delivery of the eggplant lasagna. It so obviously had been microwaved with its crispy edges, soggy center and splashes on the plate. When we asked our wonderful waitress when it was made, the poor thing obviously didn't know that the kitchen totally suck.
If you must go to this wannabe-upscale-yet-failing-miserably establishment, stick with the calamari and chicken tortilla soup, but beware of the expensive entrees....major disappointment!

The first time my husband and I went to The Bank was on their opening weekend, so we gave them a pass on the rude hostess and the disorganized service. After a recent third try we are giving up on this restaurant all together. The host staff is never friendly or welcoming and make you feel like you are there to serve them. The food is hit or miss, and the service is definitely a "miss." If you find yourself in downtown Wheaton walk by The Bank and try the numerous other restaurants with good food, good service and who are genuinely happy to have you a dining guest including L'Anne, Suzette's,Bistro Cellar, Caponata's, etc.

How many times have you read a book with a very basic cover, only to find that it was a wonderful read : ) The Bank looks very nice inside and out, but don't judge this book by it's cover. Needless to say, the food was very, very, disappointing -- and the server didn't seem to care to help rectify the situation -- that the food was cold and bland ?? We were shocked !! It ruined an otherwise good evening. The table across from us was equally disappointed. Then the bill showed up. Talk about sticker shock --they even messed the bill up ! Let's just say this was our second and last attempt !!! We have found most restaurants in Wheaton to be wonderful, but this one just doesn't get it and doesn't care :(

The bar and building are great (the bar has good drinks). But please tell me we can have a better restaurant in Wheaton (nothing compares to Adelles...)
