Large place, the food was over priced but good. Although some blonde employee, Sarah or something was stealing for tips, thought that was funny, and seemed drunk when serving me.

We loved our food, but we were most impressed with our excellent server-David!! He is incredibly professional and knows the menu and wine selection well. We were celebrating our anniversary and he treated us like roylaity. I felt like a princess.Everything he suggessted was delicious and David really made our evening special.

The restaurant wasvery nice/ modern . I & my gf did arrive about 10 mins late but it was not a problem. waiter was very attentive (at 1st). ordered wine & stuffed mushroom appetizer. Both very good. then got the surf & turf, for 46$. gf got the 8 oz filet. The food came out promptly . The filet was ok. the lobster tail was served in the shell. had to break it apart, dig into the shell to get out what little lobster was there. It was a pain to eat since we were dressed properly per the dress code. The waiter also said 1side dish probably would not be enough for 2 so we ordered 2 which was unnecessary. We got the asparagus & lobster mashed potatoes both very good. Our initial waiter was working on a party of over 25 people, who were extremely loud & certainly not dressed in "business casual" attire unless you consider straight brimmed caps and t-shirts "bc." I did get a drink on the house tho.

Recently had dinner with friends at N9NE Steakhouse and it was delicious! They have the best steak salad, great shrimp cocktail, perfectly char-broiled prime filet, amazing halibut and nice selection of fairly priced bottles of wine. Service was excellent and prompt, food came out hot and as ordered. Definitely will be back again and again. Easily one of the best loop steakhouse restaurants, and great spot for lunch too.

Have eaten at Nine many times over the years, and while the wait staff is still very attentive, the product out of the kitchen is weak.
Ordered the Ceviche to start described as shrimp, fish, avacado, chile & lime. Was served an enormous half coconut filled to overflowing with shrimp and cucumber in a weak and runny tomato based sauce. It looked like it was plated for a horror movie with the red stuff flowing everywhere. Fish and avacado hard to locate. Not Ceviche, but more shrimp gazpacho.
Ordered the Chicken entree, which is usually very good, and cut into the wing to watch bright red juices run out onto the plate. Sent it back and waited. Waiter was very attententive, replacing all silverware, etc. Chicken returned, same piece re-grilled (which is okay), but served on the same plate with pool of red juices.
Great front of house, but have no idea where things appear to have gone wrong in the kitchen.

The one star patron below must be a tad delusional. Nine, in my opinion, is easliy the best steakhouse in the city of Chicago. Best ambiance, service and food. Was there a week ago and have been there over a dozen times now and each experience is as good as the one before.

I was in to N9neSteakhouse last week for dinner and had a great meal. We sat in a comfortable booth and ordered up tasty appetizers: rock shrimp with two dipping sauces, lobster bisque, and perfectly fried calamari. For an entree we had a filet, cooked to perfection, and a deliciously prepared halibut filet. For dessert we shared a fluffy and decadent chocolate bread pudding. Chef Michael does it right and our service was excellent. Fantastic wine list with several wonderful selections that won't break the bank. Overall, a delicious dinner experience, and we will certainly return again. Fun, upbeat atmosphere, and stop up to the ghost bar lounge upstairs for an elegant nightcap. Highly recommend for others to try. Peter R.

Wow. I don't usually take the time to write reviews but after tonight's meal I felt a little more than compelled to. First off...ambiance.....terrible! Extremely cheesy. Waiter, a little too imposing for my taste. The one good thing I will give them is that their calamari was pretty good. However, the steak was TERRIBLE! Bland, under seasoned, and burnt. I had an 8oz filet and could barely finish half of it. My husband had the bone in ribeye and neither one of us could even chew through it. I am not exaggerating. I know a good meal when I have one and this was more than disappointing. You'd be much better off going to LongHorn SteakHouse. Their steaks are pretty gross but they're STILL better than at this place.We spent $200 and could have made a much better meal at home. =[ Do NOT waste your time or money! RUN!!!!

I give the restaurant 5 stars. The best New York Strip steak in the city. Ambiance is fantastic and what's more is that Ghost Bar seems to be getting popular again. Was there on Saturday night and it was a great scene with a lot of beautiful women.

Went to dinner there on Friday night with a group of friends and had a wonderful time.
Walked into N9NE and was immediately impressed with the decor of the place and was immediately greeted by the host. Something that doesn't happen often. The waitress was very knowledgable with what was on the menu and even made a couple suggestions. Since the place is known for its steakhouse and seafood I decided to try the Black Cod Miso and it was absolutely delicious!
All in all everyone was quite pleased and will be returning soon!
