Cru is where I take everyone that visits me in the city because we have been walking around and shopping and blah, blah, blah. It is the best place to come in and have a few bottles of wine and some cheese with a few small plates.
The service is what it is. They re not going to blow you away with oozing kindness, they are going to answer your questions and bring you everything you need. For those who think the service is bad here, I can give you a list of places that will make you run to Cru.
Relax, This is the best place to do it. Enjoy a conversation with the people you are there with. That's what this place does best.
By the way, the mussels are killer.

I hadn't been to Cru since it was redesigned a few years ago and the overall experience was very disappointing. I liked the original ambiance much better than the new redesign and the service was horrible. I won't be back.

We threw a friend a shower at Cru. It was a per person set price (very reasonable) for really all the wine you could drink (red, white and sparkling), good appetizers, delicious desserts. They were very generous with portions. Service excellent. The woman who was assigned to our party was so nice and helped with everything.

I'm glad I didn't go by the other reviews that were posted, and, instead, went with a gut feeling. The laid-back atmosphere of Cru was exactly what I was in the mood for after a day of walking around out in the cold. It took only one glass of wine to sink me deep into my comfy chair by the fire-place. The cheese flights were a hit, as the pairings were right-on with the nuts, grapes, etc...Flavors also abound with the pepper-crusted tuna sushi and tuna tar-tar...The only drawback, in my eye's, were the portions of the entree's..I had the lamb and was a little disappointed when the plate was laid down...
But, all-in-all, a wonderful dining experience. And my compliments to chef Ryan Jackson, whose pallete was as varied and full of flavor as anything I've had in recent memory...

I went to cru with my girl friends for the first time last Friday. Honestly speaking, i was a little sceptical after reading the reviews online. However, luckily, we had a really nice evening with good service. I was a little dissapointed around how little they had to offer as wine flights however their wine selection was quite good in general. The food is decent even though it is a little over priced. I would recommend Cru to anyone looking for a place to go to have a nice chill-out evening in the Goldcoast area.

I miss the old Cru. Service... heinous. Food... cold. Wine... good, but took a while to get there. not going back. Don't go if you want to eat or drink.

Oh my goodness what's happened to Cru? Here is a spot that before its reincarnation was wonderful if over crowded but you didn't mind. Service was great, food really good and not over priced. What happened? Last night was the third and last time I'll go since the re-opening. Each time was bad but I kept giving it another chance. Last night was the absolute worst. Cold tasteless food - I had to send the fries back - and uncaring service. Lots of staff bustling around but no one paying attention to the customers or their needs. I think our food was cold because it was left sitting somewhere while we waited and waited for someone to bring it out. Really too bad because the rooms are great - there's just no one overseeing the quality of what's going on here.

We love the concept. However, it is so sad, that nobody seems to mind the store. Since the re-opening, we went there at three occasions. Twice we ate outside, which was a pretty good experience. Today (7/22/07) we decided to go inside for drinks. The service by the Bartender was rude, inefficient and totally unacceptable. In fact, we walked out without being served. It is a pity, that you (the Owner) obviously spend a lot of money re-modelling the place, but yet the selection of your staff is pathetic. That Bartender is an emberassment to any operation and I suggest strongly to become a little bit more hands-on. My wife and I will certainly not come back (we live right in the neighberhood) and it is really sad to see such a great concept fail due to lack of supervision and staff selection.

I can't rate the food because we never got served. We never got a menu. We never could get anyone's attention sitting outside. After 10 minutes we gave up. This is the second (and last) time that this has happened to us here.
