Sangria Restaurant and Tapas Bar: User Reviews
I've came here quite a few times and I love it here. I've tried all their many different flavored Sangria's and my favorites were Raspberry and Peach. My favorite items on the menu so far were croquetas, camarones a la plancha(really good), sangria salad, guacamole, and the paellas. I haven't tried all thier food but these I've tried and it was good. The bartenders were very attentive and outgoing and can prepare any drink I've asked for and that was also a plus. I still need to come back to try the rest of the menu.

Food is totally inauthentic. At least 4 other tapas bars in the city that are 10 times better. Attempts to be a "club" after a certain time of night and charge "cover"--for what I'm not quite sure. Manager and "bouncers" are extremely rude-made my friend who came late to dinner stand outside in the cold rain for 10 minutes for no reason (restaurant was empty, there was no line, and we had a dinner reservation). When we complained to the manager, before he even asked why we were upset, he immediately defended the "bouncer" and did not apologize for his behavior. What kind of a restaurant does this?????????"

I went to Sangria when they 1st opened. The food was great. Their Calamari and their Sangria was to die for. I decided to go there again for my birthday this year. I took a large group of friends. The Calamari was served in some weird basket and they were over cooked, dry, and hard. It left a bad taste in my mouth. I was so disappointed!!! I figured the Sangria would be better, well it wasn't! I tasted like some kind of sweet juice. I was highly disappointed. I will never go there again!

Went for my sisters bachorlette party and everyone raved about the restaurant. Service and food was wonderful.

We went for a friends birthday and the entire evening was just a big disappointment. The food was not good! The service was worse. The only thing this place is good for is a little Latin dancing.

Went here for a friends birthday last Saturday! Food was good Great place for a group gathering. Stayed after for the nightclub and had a blast!

There were only two other tables at the restaurant, yet the service took forever. The pitcher of sangria we ordered sat on the bar for 15 minutes before the server could be bothered to bring it to our table. The food was ok, but ba-ba-rriba and Iberico are far superior. When trying to settle the bill, the server disappeared, and though the manager saw us waiting to pay, he was too busy texting on his cell phone to do anything about it. Even though he was watching me get annoyed. There are far too many other good restaurants in Chicago to bother going back to a place that clearly lacks in customer service.

From the moment we sat down, everything was a complete disaster. The server didn't bring our drinks for nearly 15 minutes, and the appetizers we ordered didn't arrive for 30 minutes. When they did arrive, they were cold. I complained to the manager, and even after doing this, the rest of our food didn't come for another 25 minutes. We left before eating our meals and went to another restaurant. Please stay clear of this place if you want to have an enjoyable evening!

Went here for my bachelorette party and had a great time .. until I wento the bar and asked for a water. The bartender threw a bottle my way and said something to the effect of 3 or 4 bucks. I explained to him that a) I just only wanted a cup of water and b) I didn't have my wallet, my friends did and that I just wanted the cup. He said they didn't have any other water. Luckily some nice guy at the bar bought the water for me but the rude bartender kind of ruined Sangria for me. Bartender aside there was great music for dancing and wonderful table service. Fun time if a girl isn't trying to get some water.

I still think about the yummy tapas we served this past saturday...oh wow...did they just melt in my mouth...hmmm...and their sangria...wow! make sure you try the champagne or the peace flavor when you go there!
Had a girls night out @ this place and it was my first time there, but i heard so many good things about, had to check it out for myself. So, a bunch of girls & I went and i was expecting a HUGE bill, but for 5 people it was only $80 INCLUDING 3 pitchers of Sangria we ordered (which btw is AMAZING at this place) So it was like $20/person...Fantastic...i've got $$$ left over to spend on some clothes...wooo hooo...So i'm loving this place more and more...and THEN we stay for the Late Night...great music, great DJ, learned some salsa moves from a very cute and nice Spanish guy...
