The Map Room

Neighborhood: Bucktown/Wicker Park
1949 N. Hoyne Ave.

Chicago, IL 60647
773-252-7636
The Map Room shows owners Mark and Laura Blasingame's love of traveling. Delicate wooden bookcases hold travel books and atlases. Windows facing onto the street brighten the bar area. In the morning, this is a coffee bar; by early afternoon., the harder stuff takes over (complete with an extensive beer selection). Expect a youngish and artsy crowd that probably lives around the corner from this Bucktown bar. This is also a prime place to watch games on TV. Sunday is movie night starting at 8 p.m.

A free international buffet features the food of a different country every Tuesday night starting at 7 p.m.

Yuppie/Nice Going Out Type Bars

These are slightly more expensive and yuppie-like bars that are for going out hard for some fun. Classier and more crowded, they are Munoz-like places usually reserved for the weekend.

Going Out in the City
