Nick's Beer Garden
- Neighborhood: Bucktown/Wicker Park
- 1516 N. Milwaukee Ave.
- Chicago, IL 60622
- 773-252-1155
Nick's, first established in 1977 at the since closed Armitage Avenue and Halsted Street location, now thrives in Wicker Park, attracting a diverse crowd, from blue and white collar to alternative to mainstream. Flamingos, pineapples and surfboard decorations add a tropical, eccentric appeal. A spacious enclosed beer garden lets patrons take advantage of sultry Chicago summers. Founder Nick Novich, a former schoolteacher, makes a point to get to know his patrons. If he's around, make sure to ask him about the story of Peaches, the curvy bar nude painting that has four bullet holes in it.
