I went to Goose Island on a Saturday night and my friends and i went because it wasn't too crowded and we were able to get a table to accomodate all of us. We all ordered a beer and I really didn't like mine, not a good place for people that like light beers. I thought we could all order "bar food" but when we looked at the menu the prices were definitly not bar food prices. We ordered nachos for $9 and they were ok. I would suggest this place for people that are really into dark beers.

This place has some of the best service in the city!! A girl friend of mine and I whent last night, not knowing there was a Cubs night game, and were pleasantly surprised at the level of service. Kyle was our bartenders' name and he seemed to know everything about the beer that was served and made some great suggestions. We will definitely be back!

I have been in Chicago for the last 8 years and I have not seen a place change as much as this place has over the last two and a half years. There is a whole new atmosphere about the place and also a stunning new staff of knowledgeable young people. The food has improved as well, and the place looks great. After reading the last comment I wanted someone to stick up for the new/old place and say keep up the good work! Thanks!!

Can't an "upscale" brewpub serve decent, fresh food, with at least decent service? What passes for buffalo meatloaf is; perfect little squares, processed, and thawed in the microwave, served with frozen veggies which were not even steamed enough to be served hot, then boxed, er...mashed? potatos....All this on a "very slow" night over the holiday....c'mon Goose, this is a joke...we won't be back. You can fool the 20 somethings(maybe),and the Cub tourists....but don't you want to be busy year round?

Despite the bad stigma of "bar food" this place had some good selections. I was overall pleased with the meals and definetly with the beer selections!

This is a very calm and laid back to go. Not like the other bars in the area, it has a cleanliness that is above and beyond. Jackie was our server and was oustanding. We will definitely go back multiple times.

Slightly high priced as places like this tend to be. Good apetizer specials during the week(1/2 priced beerachos are the best! - feed easily 4 people). I will second Lauren K in saying that the staff needs just a little refresher on customer service. We have been to this place many times on different days. Went on sat night and was greated by the bouncer for the first time, he was rude and pushy. After getting inside the place a manager(or somone who looked like one) calmed me down. I like going to this place to taste different beers, but i think i will keep to the weekdays.
