The new menu is great just give it a try. How hard is it to see that the wait staff just wants to have a good time and if you did want to moan at them for things out of their hands you would see they are having a good time. Perhaps you "regulars" should understand change is good and see they are changing. Get over the price of beer! You are willing to go to some crappy irish sports bar and pay the same for a pint of stale miller light, come on Goose Island has one of the BEST brewers in North America - Will is amazing. Come on!

I went last week and they changed their menu to have more "substance". They got rid of a lot of our favorites. The menu is now only one page. Gone is the brew pub fare they used to claim. So sad now. I enjoyed their good food to go along with the exceptional beer...

As a person who used tho be a regular at this place it has totally gone down the tubes. The waitstaff is HORRIBLE and RUDE, the food is just awful now. Better at McDonald's and the beer is overpriced considering they brew their own beer??? I used to love going here but this place is such crap now. My 46$ would have been better spent elsewhere, I will never return.

Exceptionally great beer. For those that say it is too warm, stay at home and have a Coors Light. The beer is served at the correct (and brewer approved) temperature. When beer is ice cold, you can't taste it--and if you like your beer ice cold, you don't like or understand beer. Food is above average, but getting better. Worth a visit just for the nachos or Stilton Burger. Service is allright--depends on who you get. There are some hidden gems that LOVE to help you and discuss the craft brew. When it is bad service, it is due mainly to being busy or overwhelmed, just like every restaurant. Place blame on poor management, not the overworked servers. Overall, great place.

The Garlic Stilton burger is worth the visit. Fantastic beer selection. Service can be a bit shakey

Goose Island might be alright if you were a tourist and like crappy bars? This place does not have much to offer besides overpriced beer and an atmosphere to match. the place sucks... a lot

I have been to Goose Island many times and always find the servers very frienly and knowledgable. They are happy to acomadate a special request. I think I have tried most items on the menu and found everything exelent. The best values are the best burgers in town with the homemade chips or my favorite onion strings. The berr is GREAT with a wide variety. Ask about the specialty beers like the Reserve or the Barrel Aged Beers. The IPA is always refreshing.

I've been to this place over 2 dozen times, at various times of day/night and days of the week. Across the board, two things remain consistant: 1)Terribly slow and bad Service and 2)really good beer & pub food. When the food *finally* does arrive, it's quite good. Tbh, I usually stick w/ my favs: fish/chips, burgers, pork bbq sam or the goose dip (aka, french dip) Soups/Apps are v good too. For me, Goose's fresh as hell beer, excellent food & comfy atmosphere still trump the inadequate service(at least for now). GI brewpub has much more potential that's yet to be realized; it has a great brewpub feel, excellent hometown beer and solid food - just wish they could go all the way and capitalize w. good service ....or at the very least make it sufficient, which for the last 5 yrs has been anything but.

With the growth of the Lincoln Park neighborhood this establishment has begun to suffer -- most notably in the area of service. My most recent visit was by far one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. I was seated in the bar area and it was anything but crowded. I waited 20 minutes for a server to acknowledge our presence (even after verbal and physical gestures). I finally spoke with the manager and, although sympathetic, he offered no compensation of any sort (that is until we asked him for it once we received our check). This would not be a big issue if I hadn't already had a conversation with this manager two weeks prior about the same issues.

They do have great beer and the brew master is a true gem. I will miss him and the wonderful craft brewed beer as I doubt I will ever frequent the restaurant again.
