Terrible

The service was slow, the restaurant was dirty, and the food was lousy. There are too many better places to go to than this hole.

OK place - We're regulars (but not as often now)
By cdg2009 from Little Italy/University Village, July 21, 2009

Extensive menu revision has occurred. Extensive staff changes have happened. Big remodeling happened.
Everything is more expensive now, but the best thing on the menu is the seared tuna sandwich!
The new menu includes a change in the greens used for the salads and that's a big improvement.
As ever, there is too much red meat on the menu.
The prices have gone up so much that we go in only about once a month for the seared tuna sandwich & a brew.
Before we were there about once a week.
The changes in the waitstaff, and the busing people are obvious & the management needs to more carefully attend to training the personnel.

Delicious Fat boy hamburger
By SusieQue from west rogers park, June 23, 2009

GO for a "fat boy" hamburger and a "Bemish" beer and you will be in for a treat. They will cook the burger to order and I have not had the problem with it being undercooked at all. THe fries are very good. Not thrilled with most of the other menu items, but the waitresses are friendly (except the odd new one- they don't last long).

Twisted Spoke (Ogden)

HORRIBLE, ABYSMAL SERVICE!
Arrived at 9:30AM, ordered steak/eggs & chilla-killas (chilequiles) & coffee. By 10:15AM all we had been served was the coffee, no sign of our breakfast. People that had been seated after us were already finishing THEIR food. Asked for the check and they had the nerve to charge me $5.73 for two cups of coffee; no apology for the horrendous service, no offer to comp the coffee, no attempt to make amends. Totally spoiled my Saturday morning, avoid this dump! Left one star because I couldn't leave LESS.

Food is awesome, patio is perfect, staff wonderful! Side note- it gets busy- so be prepared to wait, but try something off the huge drink and beer menu.

Great place
By new2food from West Town, April 5, 2009

I think a lot of people are giving TS a bad rap. It's not meant to be fine dining and the place is really meant to be a bar with food not a restaurant with a bar if you ask me. The bloodys are awesome. I'm a big fan of the breakfast burrito. The place is loud and a bit smaller now with the larger bar, but we brought our 2 month old there and had a few bloodys with brunch and had a great time overall.

best burger

My girlfriend and I stopped at the Twisted Spoke for lunch one Saturday in mid December. We are both "bikers" so we thought we should check it out. We don't eat meat too often but we a hankerin for a burger. We both ordered the Fatboy with blue cheese, bbq sauce, onions on the garllc bun...we both loved it !! We have gone back a second time and will again this coming weekend, however we now split the Fatboy cuz it's just too much food with the excellent fries for one person. The service was fine, no probs at all during our visits.

Rude wait staff, takes forever to get drinks. Also, this is NOT a biker bar. It has nothing to do with bikers.

Nice rooftop beer garden but not much else
By YerWan from Far West Suburbs, July 12, 2008

Saturday night 7pm beautiful weather. My wife and I had an enjoyable time, but the food is mediocre (bland undercooked burger), the mainfloor indoor restaurant could use a thorough cleaning, lots of beer choices but we're wine drinkers and they only have one white ("I think it's a pinot grigio," the waitress said) and one red. The 2nd floor beer garden is nice but probably not nice enough for us to come back.

Not worth it, not even for their bloody marys
By Kat from Lakeview, May 8, 2008

Overall rating:

I actually enjoy the bloddy mary's here, but as other reviewers have posted, this place has gone downhill. I am not sure what has happened within the past few months, but it really shows. The service is abysmal, the food is cold and/or not what was ordered, the bar is dirty. Thank God there are other places where one can get a delicious bloody mary.
