With four restaurants in the Fox Valley, the Karas brothers have carved out a nice little eclectic niche for themselves. Ask anyone what the Squire is known for and you'll get as many answers as there are diners -- the sizzling saganaki, barbecue ribs, tender prime rib, half-pound burgers, pizza and potent mai tais (the house drink since 1975) are all big faves here. You can't beat the nightly live entertainment and complimentary popcorn. At each of the venues (Crystal Lake, McHenry, South Elgin and West Dundee) expect a casual, friendly atmosphere that's family friendly, but with plenty of nooks for couples and friends. This location's outdoor patio is especially festive in the summer.
