The mini-burgers are as good as everyone says. I personally thought the service was great, the server was very pleasant and appropriate for such a cute little place. The buffalo chix minis are not as good. We would definitely go back for the mini burgers if we are in the area.

I have very mixed ratings on Tavish. 5 stars for the food (assuming you get a burger), although I miss when they used to make fries from fresh cut potatoes. But 1 star for ambience and 1 for service. They are not neighborhood friendly, meaning they don't care about fostering long term relationships with locals, regulars, and families.

Of the last 7 times I've been there: 4x in a row there was a private party, once "we have no food today", once they refused to let me roll my kid's stroller onto the nearly empty patio (on a Wednesday - not saving seats) and after spotting another kid in a high chair I was told "that's our only one". Every one of those times the guy telling me gave me 1 second of faked sympathy and then turned his back on me.

The one time I did get food? It was for carryout and the only people in the place were the kid behind the bar and 2 customers. The music was deafening and he chatted up the customers, seeing but ignoring me until I yelled "HELLO". He then yelled "what do you want?" without moving from his spot 20 feet away. I yelled "FOOD" at the top of my lungs and he reluctantly came over.

Thank goodness there's Five Guys now. Or Southport City Saloon or Jack's for a good pub burger.

Talk about a great place for lunch. Check out this local pub and enjoy great food while hanging out with your friends. Really cool after dinner drinks menu and friendly service. you'll feel like you are at Cheers.

I've never drank here before, but have always gone there specifically for the mini burgers. I can't explain it. Definitely worth going there to try them. So good.

Tavish has the best burgers in Chicago. Only problem is they never seem to be open, are having a private party or not answering the phone when you want one. Bad business, not worth it.

THE BEST STEAK SANDWHICH I'VE EVER HAD. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was great. Between the bartender and the chef I felt like I made a couple new friends. It was our third time there and it gets better each time!!!!

The mini burgers were awesome for an app. Had it not been for my lady companion I would have stayed for dinner. Looking forward to going back... with a different lady friend.

Well I guess the night didn't start off well. Some friends and I had heard how good the burgers were here so we decided to check it out. When we got there, we were told that there were no burgers or steak sandwhiches available. Went with the chicken sandwhiches. I have had better chicken sandwhiches at my school cafeteria...in middle school. Very bland and dry. We got like 10 soggy fries as well.
It might be a good place to have a beer or two, but I wouldn't suggest it for food.
