I went to Palmer Place for Game 2 of the Hawks-Canucks series. We went to the back bar area where there was indoor dining, an outdoor beer garden, and a soon-to-be-opened rooftop beer garden. The burgers we all had were very good and the beer list had over 300 brews from around the world. To say I was in heaven...

Had dinner there tonight, been here many times...the beer garden is phenomenal, city like, maybe better than any in the city. The beer selection is top notch as well - craft beers galore. The problems - the service is pretty bad, the waitresses have no clue whatsoever on the beer (don't expect them to know them all, but they should understand beer) and the food is crap. Had the "Palmers Nachos" which were bagged chips, cheese whiz, bad salsa, canned olives. The chips as a result were so soggy they were inedible. $8.50 for that crap! The burgers from past experience are good, but who can't make a good burger.
In all, good for drinks, skip the food.

I have went to this place with my brother plenty of times but I never leave completely satisfied. Even though this place has a really nice beergarden, it lacks a better atmosphere inside the restaurant. They do have good food and its a great place to watch a game and have a few beers.

If you are eating in the beer garden with children and need your food and beverages in a timely manner, forget it. Service is slow. If you have time, and don't have little ones with you, you will enjoy being outside.
Also, I recommend sitting outside, but closer to the Palmer Place building. If you sit further from the building, near the parking lot, you can smell the dumpsters. GROSS!

Has been one of my favorites for years. The patio is a can't miss in the summer. If you enjoy laid back places and trying new beers, you have to try it. They also have a pretty wide food selection, though if you're looking for super healthy food or mixed drinks, this is not your place.
Report This ReviewGood value and service. The menu needs an extreme make over. More healthy grilled options would be an excellent choice. Wish the whole restuarant would go non smoking seeing there really isn't a bar area.
Report This ReviewI have never had a bad meal here! The food is exceptional and has a real flair to it. The outdoor beer garden is great, kid-friendly and worth the wait. I have been going here for over 12 years and it's the best!
