Definitely one of my favorite bars in the city. It's a great "laid back" bar. Not a place for dancing, but if you want to drop by with some friends to have a few beers or watch a game, I definitely recommend. All summer long they have $3 22oz. Miller Lite stadium cups whenever there is a Red Sox game and the shots flow like water. All the bartenders are good people, including the surly old man mentioned in one of the other reviews.
This bar is also a great place for a quick meal. The menu isn't the most expansive, but they know bar food. Especially the nachos, chicken wings, chicken philly cheesesteak, and calamari.

Just moved to Chicago from Boston and this place is the closest to a Boston pub. All New England sporting events are guranteed to be shown here and the staff is superb!

This is a great place for everyone! The Bar and Food are excellent. The other reviews pertain to to Big John's.
Report This ReviewThis is a great Lincoln Park stop for a burger, VERY good chicken wings and reasonable drink prices. The bartenders here pour an "honest" drink- something that is hard to come by in that tony neighborhood.
Report This ReviewI am not such a big fan of this bar, and I know my bars. Doesn't hol a stick to Duffy's. Instead of hot guys tending bar, there is a surly old man. Doesn't do much to elevate my libido.
