Nic and Dino's Tripoli Tavern

Neighborhood: Sheffield/De Paul
1147 W. Armitage Ave.

Chicago, IL 60614
773-477-4400

Stephen Nicoli, a.k.a. "Nic" (ex-The Store) and longtime buddy Dean Zanella (312 Chicago) own this low-key neighborhood tavern, which is located in the former Big John's space in Lincoln Park. Don't head here looking for Zanella's Italian specialties -- the tavern serves casual fare like chicken wings, open-faced sloppy Joes, rib-eye steak sandwiches and burgers. You can't miss the entrance – there's an oversized Red Sox flag out front (the owners hail from the Boston area). The tavern's sport focus favors Chicago teams, but Red Sox fans can always catch the game here.
