I have eaten at this place so many time and one word comes to mind - Inconsistent!! Nothing here ever tastes the same way twice. The menu needs to be updated badly as well. If had a few decent meals here, but for the most part the food is usually mediocre at best. Good beer selection though and the bartenders are great!!

went to lunch with a friend and had the big onion which was okay. Ordered the chicken pot pie special with the broccoli cheddar soup, of which neither was good. The chicken in the pot pie looked and tasted like it came from a can!! The pot pie itself was more like a custard with a strong broccoli flavor. The broccoli cheddar soup was no better.
Food quality has gone way done and I can say that I won't be back.

I've been going to the Hackney's on Harms Road for many years, but discovered the Hackney's downtown just this summer. My favorite dish at this location is their Old Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake. They use the real biscuit recipe, not pound cake like so many places do these days. It is absolutely delicious! I took a group of people there, having raved about their strawberry shortcake, and they all agreed it was the best ever! It's only served during the summer months, though, so hurry and get it now!

For whatever reason, we find ourselves at Hackney's every Friday night. It's a great neighborhood pub/ eatery and feels like "Cheers" when you walk through the door. The staff is super nice and they provide great service. I feel bad calling them "staff" because they are more like good friends. Bill Murray was there a few weeks back... cool place. If you like Hofbrau beer, order up a "Drunkel" from James or Billy... good stuff!

the food at Hackney's is always great. I went there Friday night and we ordered the huge block of onion rings, it was amazing but of course you are stuffed afterwards. The drinks are reasonably priced. A group of six of us went there and with the food and drinks it was a great value, not too expensive. I wish we could of sat outside, because the interior is dark and cramped, and the tables are too close together.

This is an extremely dependablt restaurant/bar. Every time I've visited the food has been great and the service friendly and prompt. The food is a step or two up from regular bar food and the burgers are as good as advertised.
