Tumbao Bar & Grill

Since it opened in February 2008, Tumbao has brought in a predominantly Latino crowd with live salsa music and Caribbean-inspired small plates. The large and rustic brick-walled space is packed with booths and tables for dinner, plus a dance floor in back with sofas nearby for people-watching. On Monday nights, when the kitchen swaps out the regular menu with legions of buffalo wings, guys gather around the granite bar to watch football on their three 50-inch plasma TVs. Stop in any other day for fried green plantains or coconut shrimp skewers with mango chutney. As for the drinks, sip on a mojito (sweetened with honey instead of sugar) or fruity guava sangria.
