Popular with University of Chicago students and faculty, this "private club" (though guests can get in for a buck) is a beer aficionado's heaven. Bartenders serve 21 beers on tap, more than 100 bottled beers and three ciders. As a rule, they don't serve hard liquor. Burgers are the crowd favorite here, but the kitchen is also known for its homestyle meals, and with good reason: The Pub is operated by the same folks who run Hyde Park's favorite cafe, Medici. The Pub is all about relaxing, with three pool tables and free games, including darts and foosball, which is almost as popular as the Monday night 15-cent wings.
