The folks behind Brownstone Tavern & Grill, Schoolyard Tavern & Grill and Gaslight Bar & Grille are also behind Sidebar, which focuses on lunch and happy hour, thanks to its Loop location. The interior is Victorian-meets-urban, with stained concrete floors, raised platforms with table seating and Oriental rugs, a luxe Victorian mahogany bar with a backlit glass mosaic and Victorian light fixtures. The menu features faves from the other bar and grills, such as the "lollipop" lamb chops, crispy Reuben rolls and the yummy skillet cookie with caramel, chocolate and vanilla ice cream, but there are also heartier entrees for the dinner crowd and higher-end pub grub for the post-work noshers. By the way, the name comes from the legal term -- there are several law firms in the area -- and also because the rectangular spot flanks a side street.
