Inside: Rebar
At Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago, cocktailers in the mezzanine level lounge, Rebar, are wowed by views that create a feeling of floating over the Chicago River. East-facing, floor-to-ceiling windows bring in light during the day and showcase an illuminated city and Michigan Avenue Bridge at night. Clusters of chairs and lounge seating dot the room; stools line the main bar and a nearby marble standing bar provides the perfect place to perch if you're standing in stilettos. Though you'll still feel like you’re in a hotel bar despite the swanky atmosphere, homey touches such as glass vases and framed black-and-white photographs of architectural imagery help create a cozier atmosphere. A couple wall panels showcasing an enormous close-up of a Caravaggio print add a touch of drama. (The name, by the way, is a nod to the reinfornced bar, or rebar, used to support concrete structures; there are more than 50,000 tons of rebar used in the construction of the Trump.)

The mixology mentality at Rebar is called "liquid kitchen"—drinks made with fresh-squeezed juices and fresh herbs and spices. Shut your eyes and imagine sipping the lavish Dreams—available by the punch bowl or glass—made with P.I.N.K. vodka muddled with strawberries and lime, all topped off with rose champagne. Since this is Trump’s tower, impress your guests and order from a wide selection of champagnes, sakes or premium, rare spirits. Bar bites will be anything but standard: An ever-evolving Neo Japanese menu created by Sixteen chef Frank Brunacci features sushi, sashimi and more.
