I ordered the chicken pot pie at lunch, which was pretty good. My friend ordered the omelet with feta cheese, which he seemed to enjoy. It's got a nice (albeit dark) ambiance, and it had a nice lunchtime bustle. I'd stop by again if I had the chance. Nothing phenomenal, but definitely worth a trip.
Report This ReviewVery cut and dry...A big restaurant serving average American style food at decent prices. Not too many places in the loop that aren't fast food or super fancy anymore so Miller's is like a step back in time.
Menu could use Wings and sometimes the bread is soggy as though they only cooked a hot sandwich on one side.
miller's pub has a great atmosphere and the food was great and you get a lot of it.
Report This ReviewThis is a great place. I went their recently after having some problems with reservations at another restaurant. Here, we were seated in 5 minutes. The food is American traditional for the most part so if you are expecting nouveau cuisine, this is not the place for you. However, if you want good, traditional food at a reasonable price, this is the place. I had the broiled salmon and it was excellent. My Grey Goose martini may have been pricey at $9.50 but it was equivalent to a double, at least! There is a unique, old school atmosphere to this place and its reputation as a Chicago legend is well deserved.
Report This ReviewI was at Miller's Pub a few weeks ago with some friends. We started at the bar and our bartender Robert was memorable. He took great care of us, didn't hover and remembered what we were drinking. He said he could take our order, but we had more people coming, so we moved to a table. Our waitress was a bit hurried, even though the section was pretty empty. We had steaks, they were really good and cooked just right. We went back to the bar afterward and Robert still remembered what we drank. I'd never been here before, but I will definitely be back.
Report This ReviewWe went to Millers Pub after a wedding the weekend after christmas and it was honestly one of the worst experiences in my life. We showed up at about midnight, there were alot of empty tables so we just sat down at one. After sitting there for less than a minute we were scolded by a waitress for not being seated by the hostess. We were never greeted by a hostess and I would say easily that 75% of the tables were vacant anyhow. It did not stop there we were then told we could not sit unless we ate, it was after midnight I could see if it was like 9, we appeased the waitress and ordered 2 appetizer trays. They were poor at the very least after that we were "allowed" to sit in 2 booths. There were about 30-45 of us already in the bar at that point and we knew there would be several more coming as we were staying next door at the palmer house. The best man and one other groomsman approached the manager with a large sum of money to see if they could "buy" a section for the night, they were rudely turned away and told that they see wedding parties all of the time and we were nothing special. All we wanted was to be able to sit comfortably and continue our good time instead millers pub made it very uncomfortable and angered most of us. Quite a few people including myself left after that. Over all the staff was rude, the place was boring and dead, and the food was horrible. I give millers pub a total thumbs down.
Report This ReviewWhile on a weekend trip into the city we stopped for cocktails at Miller's Pub as the result of a recommendation by the hotel staff at the Palmer House. We had a wonderful time, mostly because of our bartender Damien who was delightful. When our friends arrived we moved to the end of the bar and were taken care of by Robert who was very attentive and pleasant. The drinks were very reasonably priced compared to other bars in the area, and maybe it was just the atmosphere, but they tasted better as well.
Report This Review...as every restauarnt in Illinois will be as of 1/1/07, thank goodness!
Shied away from Miller's until I learned it was smoke-free. The waiters are friendly, the portions are generous, and the food is very satisfying. Prices are very reasonable for a downtown restaurant, too.
Report This ReviewThe best thing about the ribs is the coleslaw that comes with this. If you are used to Twin Anchors quality ribs, than you will be sorely disappointed.
It's easy to ignore the bad reviews, but don't ignore this one. I can't even say these ribs are better than Carsons Ribs.
These ribs are only about 3 inches long, and do not even come served with sauce on top--they are essentially dry. They do NOT pull off the bone, you MUST use a knife.
Better ribs can be found at Twin Anchors and Gale Street Inn.
Report This Reviewthe worst service in the city for an overrated overpriced experience
