Not good
By eventgirl from Magnificent MIle, February 16, 2009

The drinks are good, but not a great value. However, the food is not. My friend's onion rings were overly greasy and undercooked. My Mac & Cheese bites were not very good. The sauce also which was supposed to be kind of like tomato soup just was not doing it for me. I won't be back.

What happened here ?

If the wait at Blackie's is long and we are rushing to see a movie at AMC21 Lucky Strike was always quick and reliable. The service for me was and still is good. The problem now is the food. The menu seems scaled back. The Cosmo was mostly cranberry juice. I could have ordered a vodka cranberry and gotten the same thing. I've had better nachos in a movie theatre and that's not a compliment. The salads are similar and each has only Romaine. I've had better salads at McDonald's and Wendy's. I will not return.

This place has really turned it's self around. The new food menu is to die for, and the service is incredible, even the managers were stopping by to check to see how we were doing! great atmosphere and feel.

Bad to the bone!

I come here often because I go to a lot of movies at the AMC and EVERYTIME (I'm not kidding) the service is the worst. It baffles me that it never gets better. Tonight, the bartender was very slow, had lipserves to several other customers and forgot to put in my order. When I asked hime when my meal was coming (My movies was about to begin) he then told me he forgot to put in my order. He offered me a pizza that came that he goofed for someone else and comped my meal. (Which was appreciated) The idiot bartender lost two tips, lost money for the account, and lost customers. It never gets better! I suggest that all movie goers go to PJ Clarkes or some other account in the area. I'm finally done!

Birthday Bash
By mslinds from Beverly, May 19, 2008

I had a birthday celebration at Lucky Strike, and my friends and I had a blast!! The staff at the door were great, and everyone was curteous and friendly! The food was great, our server was great too, and the drinks (martinis) were the best I'd had in a long while! I definitely suggest this place if you want to have a kick-back casual party with great music and fun, and the theater's right next door if you want to catch a flick afterwards.

Bowlers Beware
By sjfin@hotmail.com from sjfin@hotmail.com, February 4, 2008

The first time that I visited here one of the bartenders was extremely rude. The staff seems to be clueless about everything especially where to sit patrons. The environment is very chaotic. They have a stupid dress code in order to bowl. The second time that I visited, we were not allowed entry because one person in our party wore a BGBC fitness outfit which did not resemble a jogging suit and their policy is no jersey material or jogging suit. 10 pin bowling alley at the House of Blues is far more superior then this place so we hopped in a cab and headed to 10-pin. Lucky strike is for people who prefers to dine and drink only. Go to 10-pin their service is great and they allow bowlers to bowl comfortably.

We waited and waited...

We had two lanes previously reserved at 9PM and they were not ready. There were 3 guys behind the desk: One of them spraying shoes, one of them putting away shoes, and one guy constantly promising us he'd have our lanes cleared every few minutes. Fifteen minutes later I had to end up going over and asking the people that were still on our lanes to please leave. It took an additional five minutes for the employee to set up the electronic scoreboard so we were twenty minutes out of our reserved bowling time. Additionally the bartenders were very slow at mixing drinks when there was a line of people at the bar. We did not try the food but the drinks were expensive and so were the lanes.

Terrible Service
By Jake from Downtown, November 30, 2007

Overall rating:

Rude staff and terrible service sums up this place. Been there 3-4 times on work outings. Every time it's the same story so I'll ensure we never return. Have to flag down staff to get service, even at the bar when only a couple of customers to serve. Wait staff don't help each other, 4 or 5 stand around the bar doing nothing. If your waiter/waitress is busy you've no chance of getting service. I could go on and on, bad attitudes all over. Every place has bad nights but this is every time. Skip this place.

Best waitress ever
By Lois lane from Loop, November 18, 2007

My husband and I dined at Lucky Strikes on Saturday after the lights parade. The restaurant was extremely busy but Jenn let us know in advance and catered to our every need to make the wait worth while. Honestly most waitresses are rude and don't care but Jenn wanted us to have " the best time ever" and we did. You could see how busy she was running around but all the people we saw her waiting on were smiling just like she was! We will be back real soon to see her!
