Off the Beaten Path

This quaint little place always satifies. The ambiance is great, and the margaritas are strong (in a good way). I have eaten brunch/lunch/and dinner here, and each meal has hit the spot! It is off the beaten path, and not as main stream as Adobo Grill or Zocalo (which are both also good). Regardless, when a place puts out outstanding product time after time it makes it worth mentioning and recomending. I think if you are looking for a new spot to try -- Las Palmas is worth going and checking out for yourself!

The best in the city?!

This has turned into one of my favorite spots in Chicago. The drinks are strong and actually taste good. The quac is made to order - a must have. I wish they still wheeled the cart out and made it in front of you...The seasonal/regional specials are amazing not your typical 'tacos, burritos, you'll find in American Mexican spots.

we love this neighborhood place, not just the standard mexican fare but some truly interesting dishes and the " fresca" is the best margarita in town.

Overpriced, small portions, flavorless

Went here with 3 other friends for a 25th birthday dinner. Service was very slow and not attentive, portions were small and not much flavor. I had the chile rellenos, which was just one stuffed pepper which was deep fried and soggy. Ceviche was pretty good, but everything else was poor. Definitely over-priced for mexican food. Outdoor patio was nice as was the music, but not worth the poor service at all. Save your money and go to Pilsen.

Good, but expensive

The live music at Las Palmas definitely adds character, but every item on the menu is overpriced. I enjoyed my evening here, but would not go back unless it were on someone else's tab. I give the margarita's a B+ as well as the entrees on the menu. Be prepared for $40 each for a romatic dinner here.

Fabulous Food and Fun Atmosphere

My Husband and I love trying new spots to dine, and Mexican is at the top of our list. The food was so fresh, service was attentive but not annoying, and the value was right on! We will definitely return with friends to introduce them to this gem of a find!

Muchas Gracias!

One of my Favs

I have been to Las Palmas about 5 times, twice with friends and the rest with my husband. The atmophere is fun for a small group, but can be romantic for a couple. The food is great and there are unique menu items. I have yet to have a bad drink there as well! We recommend this restaurant to all our friends in the area.

The food was mediocre, but the mohitos and caparainas were excellent. My problem was that the restaurant is too small for a Mexican band. I couldn't hear my date and was screaming to be heard. I would have had another drink but couldn't wait to leave.

I love this place. The tableside Guacamole is amazing and so is the cucumber margarita. So fresh and deelish! We always order the molcajetes, its like their take on fajitas. You get grilled steak, chicken or shrimp (or a combo of all) grilled cactus, green onions and chihuahua cheese all sizzling in a hot stone bowl with tortillas on the side. its amazing! The lunch price is only $12 and the dinner price for the exact same portion is $19 so go before 3pm on the weekends. Plus there is never a wait for lunch!!!
