This Bridgeport institution closed its doors last year under threat of eviction, but Jimbo's has returned from the dead--at least temporarily. While the bar's ultimate fate is in the hands of the courts, the owners have opted to keep the taps flowing to the bitter end. The anti-Cubby Bear, this spot is just north of Cellular Field and a hell of a lot rougher round the edges. No frou-frou croissant sandwiches or grilled vegetable wraps here; Jimbo's sells Sox-style lunches from hot dogs to beef sandwiches to po' boys.

We like Jimbo's. Better beer selection & more friendly staff than Shinnick's. Mucher closer to Sox Park also.
