Bar Louie's best food and beer deals around
By ktdids from woodridge, August 26, 2008

I love Bar Louie. Let's face it, the food is bar food but some of it is pretty good and they have daily specials. They offer a full-size menu portion for $5.95 at lunch each day, every day is a different dish so you have to visit. I know Mondays is an Asian salad or sliders, Tuesday features the BBQ chicken salad (one of my favs) and Fri. is fish tacos. They also have drink specials every day. We were there yesterday and they had $2 Peroni on tap (a coke costs $2.49 though). The best deal of all is the $2 burgers on Tues evenings. It's their regular burger (not smaller portion) for just $2. You have to pay for any extras like cheese, lettuce, tomato, etc, but still one of the best deals around. Parking sucks but It's usually pretty easy to get a table.

Great atmosphere, friendly, helpful service. Most accomdating place I've ever been, they will let you order off the menu (great food). They order the Big Ten network just for me!

There is not enough parking...

There is not enough parking in the so called "free" parking lot. And the valet parking is entirely overpriced. But if you do attend on a Friday or Saturday evening you will be able to converse with an awesome bouncer named 'Paul'.

I just visited Bar Louie for the first time and was very impressed with the service and the quality of food. The place was packed and the server was right on top of her game. This is the best overall food/atmosphere/service in Naperville.

New receipe for the blackened...

New receipe for the blackened Salmon entree is AWFUL! Used to be served on black beans/rice with a spicy sauce topping. Now comes with paste-like mashed potatoes and some kind of veggie topping. I'm sure the "new formulation," according to our server, is an attempt to save money and make it easier to prepare. DO NOT ORDER this McDonald's-like crap. it's the only thing I like on the menu. Guess Bar Louis has sunk to an incredible new low.

I recently was in for dinner with some girlfriends, we all had a great time. The wait staff really was doing a superb job. The bar was very busy and still our waitress was very prompt and friendly when bringing our drinks and food. My friends and I had such a fun night, the atmosphere was awsome the music was off the hook and the Bar Louie staff was great! We will all be back very soon!

I liked the atmosphere, but...

I liked the atmosphere, but it went downhill after the doorman nicely greeted us and we found our own table. It took way too long for our waitress to even acknowledge us and take our order. This was happening to tables around us as well. We can deal with that, we've all been to busy restaurants. She messed up the drink orders twice, still no biggie. The killer was the buffalo shrimp, priced at $13.95- it had 4 shrimp on a pile of fries! I was surprised the waitress could serve these (we had 2 of these in our order) with a straight face. Of course my friends didn't want to complain, maybe that's why they have to hire above average looking servers, to compensate for the bad service and high prices. Why spend all this money on a restaurant and not train or schedule your staff properly??? It will be a while before we try going back, the chicken vesuvio sandwich looked good- nothing else on the plate though, no fries, no pickle or even a piece of parsley??? Come on guys- get your act together.
