Marginal food, crushing volume

We had no idea that it would take an hour or more to seat 8 people at 7:30, fools that we are! When we finally did get in, they wanted to seat 8 of us at a table for six! Even though there was a large, empty table right next to us. So we fixed that for ourselves. Service was good but even the very attentive and sweet waitress had trouble hearing our orders.

We had the bleu cheese burgers, jerk chicken wrap and the Cheeseburger in Paradise. All fair to partly OK. Fries were wonderful, however. And the iced tea was probably the best I've had next to my own!

Once the band started, we had to decide if we would leave our meals half-eaten just to get out of there or stay and finish. We quickly flagged down our waitress and had everything bagged to go. What is the point of volume like that? It would have been one thing if they had played Jimmy stuff or if they had been able to carry a melody. But they couldn't. They were just ear-splitting loud.

Certainly won't be back.

No Paradise with a group/Part of people.

Extremely unhappy with the service received from the restaurant manager/owner. Even though they do not take reservations, I was informed to speak to the manager regarding a party of people. My sister is getting married and we planned to have her bachelorette party on a Saturday at 6:30. I thought this restaurant would be a great atmosphere and idea for a fun group of gals. I was immediately turned down to the idea with a response of, "we cannot accommodate a large group during that dinner hour." Shocked, I told him we would provide our business else where. I do not recommend going with large groups because you may be turned down too. Trust me, it's not worth the margarita or the cheeseburger.

Good burgers but tacky atmosphere
By Jen from Downers Grove, December 28, 2007

If you can get past the loud crowd, average service, and tacky atmosphere, you'll enjoy a good burger. The sweet potato chips are also excellent. It was hard to enjoy the food, though -- there were several pieces of gum stuck under our table and we had a hard time hearing each other. The restaurant is probably best for families with kids.

Great food. Always love coming here. Sweet beach bar atmosphere. Mini cheeseburgers are what I go for. All around great place. Great place to come with your friends or even family.

Best cheeseburger that I have ever had. Everyone else in my party agreed. Since visiting, I compare every burger I eat to Cheeseburger in Paradise. Between the food and the uniquely fun atmosphere, this is a must-visit for any Parrotheads.

Excellent cheeseburger, excellent service, live entertainment is way too close to the seating, luckily we left before they began.

Great place to go and just lean back and have a good time, I can't compare it to any other place I've ever been to. The food isn't oustanding but it's decent, you go for the entertainment and fun.

If you don't want to go to a loud restraunt, don't try Cheeseburger on a Friday or Saturday night after 9, but otherwise the experience is great. A very laid back atmosphere, and the servers try their best to make your experience the best it can be.

Really wanted to try out this restaurant and was so
disappointed, never again.
First and foremost, way too
loud!!! The acoutics are awful. I expected much more and the menu was rather limited. We did tried the fried onions and later felt rather sick, the cheeseburger was just ok nothing special for the price. We certainly won't go back again, however the saving grace, our waitress Colleen did whatever she could to make us happy. Unfortunately she didn't build the place or cook the food.

The restaurant is a great restaurant with a casual layedback feeling and great food. At the one in downers grove, I felt the service was a little slow. The one ain Algonquin is perfect. It really is worth more than you pay. Dishes are inventive, and they do have the basic bar and grill faves. I feel that they are underpriced. You can beat it. All dishes are under $15. My family Splurged and we got the bill up to mid seventies for the price. It is easily a must recommend.
