Place is really nice. Food is ok. Service is horrible! Not bad to go on a weekday. Good place to go to watch a band you like but thats about it.

My friends and I went on one of the opening weekends. We didn't have to wait at all to get in, so that was good. However, less than a half hour later, we noticed a huge line out the door. At this point we were all still downstairs in a booth, confused, because there was plenty of room. We had the feeling that the line was being "created" to make the place appear busier. Service was a little slow, but not the worst.
However, when we wanted to go upstairs and dance, we had to get in another line. It took about 20 minutes to get upstairs, and the bouncers were charging everyone $10! I guess that's what happens when they don't charge to get in the door initally. It was packed upstairs with nowhere to dance.
A friend of ours went outside to smoke. When he tried to re-enter they told him he had to get back into line, even though he had a hand stamp. Ridiculous.
Save your time and money and go to Barleycorn in Wrigley.

After my girlfriend asked several times for me to join her to try out Barleycorn ("you want to go on Thursday? Its country night!" "Aren't you in sales? Know your audience! No.") I relented to see what all the hype was about. One of the city's favorites Barleycorn brought out to the Burbs. My recap - we're still in Schaumburg.
Right off the bat there is no parking. The lot is full, the valet line is long and the staff insists that if you park at any of the lots across the street your car will be towed. Great...
The clientele consist of 3 types - the middle aged suburbanites out on the town, the teased hair, black eyeliner, mini mini skirts chics living the life in their twenties and the melting pot of guys that seem to blend together in their striped shirts and jeans. For a sports bar everyone was VERY dressed up. Although it was Friday and we were at a sports bar, apparently "club wear" is what you wear there. Please refer to the above title once more.
The bar downstairs is rather squashed since more than half of the downstairs is the restaurant and tall boy tables are crammed into the bar area leaving no where to really chill. The bartender did a great job of ignoring my patient, smiling face several times. Good job. Here's your dollar.
We went upstairs where I found the one of two positives about this place. The stage area where the band plays is great. The stage is high enough to see the band from a distance yet low enough so when you stand in front you are def part of the action. Small area, think Durty Nellies but more intimate. I like the idea of going there to watch bands every now and than.
After the band's set the DJ came on playing the usual fan fare. Not too exciting. But by than I was pretty buzzed on $4 beers - the other plus of this place.
Will I go back? To see Sixteen Candles - for sure. For a night on the town - no way.

Great Place, amazing music venue that could rival the house of blues. food great and overall atmosphere beautiful. service needs a bit of work but other than that, if you are forced to hang in schaumburg, at least there is a city-like refuge to hang!

Went to JB in Schaumburg and this place is huge! Tons of HD tvs, hot waitresses, and the ratio is actually really good. Had food and we went in a big group so our waitress was having some problems but they made it up to us by giving us a free round and free shots. The dance floor is huge and the music was pretty decent.
I had a blast and will be back again!
