Underground Lounge
- Neighborhood: Wrigleyville
- 952 W. Newport Ave.
- Chicago, IL 60657
- 773-327-2739
Not another bleacher bum haven, this intimate lounge and live music venue is Wrigleyville's buried treasure. Occupying a sublevel space that was a 1930s speakeasy, the Underground Lounge maintains a clandestine character, modernized by blue, black and stainless steel decor. Between the cabaret tables, booths and bar stools, about 65 people can sit comfortably, leaving room for a small crowd to gather near the large stage, which is set back almost like another room. Visiting bands range from rock to jazz, and the exceptional jukebox covers the rest.
